AGM & Luncheon - Getting the Most Value from Your Insurance Appraisal (June 13th)

You are invited to our Annual General Meeting and last Luncheon!

The AGM is open to all members and is taking place at the Metropolitan Hotel in Vancouver. A new board of directors will be elected at this meeting, so this is your opportunity to stand for a position on the board and serve your fellow members. Please see the attachment for further details on open positions and agenda. Furthermore, a draft of the new Constitution and Bylaws are attached for review and will be voted on during this meeting. If you cannot attend in person, don't fret, a proxy has been included on the final page of the attached and can be filled out and sent to any board member or other member planning to attend the AGM in person.

TOPIC:           Getting the Most Value From Your Insurance Appraisal

Mr. Devin Barker from Suncorp Valuations will provide insight into the property appraisal process and how it is critical for setting values and premiums. He will also provide some tricks of the trade and other tips to leverage an appraisal with your insurers when purchasing insurance and more importantly, when you have a claim.

SPEAKER:   Devin Barker, Manager Business Development, Suncorp Valuations

Devin began his career in the mining industry and transitioned to lending for a large credit union organization. He joined Suncorp Valuations in 2010 and works with the Business Development team to market the firm’s services. Devin has been involved in the project managing of several large scale projects in food processing and various commercial real estate portfolios. He has managed appraisal engagements for financing, insurance placement, accounting and property records (IFRS), and litigation support for clients throughout Canada. Devin has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan.

ADDITIONAL PRESENTERS:  BCIT Risk Management & Insurance Student's who competed in this years Spencer's Risk Management Challenge in Texas.
